Did you know?
Eccles Street was the fictional home of Leopold Bloom, protagonist of the novel Ulysses by James Joyce? In the book he lived at No.7 Eccles Street. Whilst Leopold Blooms home, No.7 Eccles Street was demolished in 1967, the door was kept and is now on view at MOLI Museum on St. Stephens Green. The site where Leopold Blooms fictional home was is now occupied by The Mater Hospital which is just next door to our city centre clinic.
James Joyce died of gut health related issues and suffered constantly throughout his life with sight problems. Interestingly, Eccles Street has become Irelands leading medical street associated now with The Mater Hospital, and known for the many dental, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat consultants. Aesthetic, wellbeing and health professionals of every kind have chosen to practice there.
Dublin Vitality Centre is honoured to claim its place on the corner of Eccles Street, and Dorset Street right in the heart of Dublin City Centre, and to offer its fabled gut health, nutrition and skin programmes within this fresh, and vibrant community.
